Birthday party

My friend Chloe from the neighborhood turned 8 last week and we celebrated with a birthday party at her house. Ruby and I were the youngest guests (besides Jackson, who is a little older than Ruby). But we held our own, especially in the treat department. This party was a treat paradise - lollipops, ice cream, cake, and a piƱata! There was a magician there too, and he made us awesome balloon swords. Well, he made me about 5 of them because I kept popping mine. Ruby got a balloon bouquet. Good times.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to our Mama!

I hope you enjoyed brunch at one of your favorite local haunts, and weren't too bothered by the fact that Ruby pooped right in the middle of it. At least Dad changed her, right? And hopefully falling down the steps at the restaurant while holding a full mug of coffee wasn't too traumatic for you. At least the coffee was only lukewarm, right? And sorry about that temper tantrum...or THOSE temper tantrums, rather. But sometimes a guy just has to have a treat, or a TV show, or whatever else I must have at the time, regardless of what day it is. And just because it's Mother's Day doesn't mean I'm going to eat zucchini. But as I often tell you, you're the best Mama I ever had!

Superhero Social

This weekend all of Baltimore's mini superheroes got together at St James Academy for a day of sun, fun and crime-fighting. Ruby and I were dressed in our finest garb - she as Supergirl, and I as the black spiderman. I even got my face painted completely BLACK, much to Dad's utter dismay. There were also games, and best of all SNACKS! Which, really, is all Ruby and I care about.

Rocco and Ruby's first conversation

Rocco: Hey Ruby, would you like it if a bee landed on your nose?

Ruby: No

Ruby has a tooth!

We spotted Ruby's first tooth two days ago! She's also been rolling over from her back to her belly for almost a month now - now she roly-poly's all over the place. Mama and Dada say that now I really have to eat my food faster or else Ruby will eat it!

Ruby's eating food!

Since she went for her 4 month appointment at the doctor - measuring in at 15 pounds and 24.5 inches (same weight as me at that age, just half an inch shorter) - Ruby has been eating solid food. The first time Mama and Dada gave her banana I thought it was the most hilarious thing. Now she eats pear, avocado and sweet potato too. She seems to really like it. As long as she doesn't try to eat my treats, I'm cool with it.
