Mais que nada
As of today I am Brazilian! Mama and I took the train to Rotterdam to go to the Brazilian consulate to get my Brazilian birth certificate and passport. As soon as my birth certificate was printed, my temper instantly flared at this cold weather - I find this pale autumn skin offensive! Where is the sun, samba and salgadinhos? Nossa mae, I need a caipirinha...and some brigadeiros.

Playing
I love my cool activity mat that my great aunt Ruthie and cousins Lauren and Kelsey got for me. Mama and Daddy scatter my toys around it and I chase them around.

Sometimes I do this to the point of exhaustion.

Sometimes I shuffle my way into corners I'm not supposed to be in.

Sometimes I invite friends over to play on it with me.

It's also a soft place for me to practice my crawling skills. Almost there!

Bellisimo, amore, panino...Rocco
Last weekend I went on my first family trip to visit Florence, Italy.

The weather was sunny and mild, perfect for checking out the sights and eating al fresco. We strolled through Boboli gardens, took in the views at Piazzale Michelangelo and San Miniato al Monte and admired the art at the Medici palace, all the while stopping for decadent lunches and sumptuous gelatti. Mama and Daddy know how to do it up right.

I had my own baby cot in our hotel room and slept like a dream every night. During the day I cat-napped, usually during the most exciting parts of the day and never while Mama and Daddy were trying to eat. Twice at restaurants grandmas offered to hold me so they could eat - foiled! But it was nice to be showered with so much attention everywhere we went. Italians sure love babies - I was called so many different funny names, like the ones in the title of this post. I was the "mascot" at our hotel, all the staff wanted to squeeze my feet. And everyone got a kick out of my name.

Another day, another shot
The other day I had my 4-month check-up at the baby clinic. I am 15 and 1/2 pounds and 25 inches long. Just for kicks, I did my rolling over trick for the doc and got the reaction I was hoping for - ooh's and aah's. She even said she wishes all babies could be like me. But she still gave me an injection. Does that mean she wishes all babies could be pincushions? What does a babe have to do around here?? Adults - I don't get them.
